FAQ

Chardham Yatra, answered.

What is the right order to do the Chardham Yatra?

Traditional order is Yamunotri → Gangotri → Kedarnath → Badrinath, moving from west to east. This is followed by almost every operator and the order in which the dhams open every season.

How many days does the Chardham Yatra take?

10 days from Haridwar by road is the standard. By helicopter it can be completed in 5 days. Do Dham (Kedarnath + Badrinath) takes 6 days by road or 2 days by helicopter.

What is the best time for Chardham Yatra 2026?

May to mid-June and mid-September to early November are the prime windows. We avoid July–August due to monsoon and landslide risk on the upper hill routes.

Is registration mandatory?

Yes — every pilgrim must register on the Uttarakhand Tourism portal. Registration is free and we handle it for booked guests.

Is the Kedarnath helicopter safe?

Operators are DGCA-regulated and flights are weather-dependent. Same-day cancellations do happen during monsoon and pre-winter — always keep a one-day buffer.

Can senior citizens do the Chardham Yatra?

Yes. Yamunotri requires a 6 km uphill section (pony/palki available) and Kedarnath has a 16 km trek (helicopter recommended). With pony, palki and helicopter support, almost any fit senior can complete the yatra.

What kind of vehicles do you use?

Innova or Crysta for 2–4 guests, Tempo Traveller for groups of 5–12. Vehicles are AC in the plains and non-AC in the upper hills, per Uttarakhand transport regulations.

Is the booking refundable?

Cancellations made 30+ days before departure are refunded after deducting actuals (heli tickets, hotel non-refundables). 15–29 days: 50% refund. Less than 15 days: non-refundable. Force-majeure cases handled case-by-case.
